Weird. I went to one of those gigs as I was a fan and thought perhaps I would maybe 'get it' if I saw them live.
Not the case unfortunately. They went through all the required stadium show moves, but I didn't buy into any of it. Left me completely cold (as it were).
Never a good sign when you;re checking your watch at a gig, working out how much longer there is left until the end...

I wasn't a fan but saw them at a Festival in Portugal years ago.
Thought they were fantastic, loved them live.
Then went back to not being a fan again.
See Foo Fighter (at the same festival) for another example of this.

I went yesterday, it isn't really my sorter thing but there was a spare flying about.
Decent show I thought, very middle class.
I was pretty drunk so that may of helped. Wouldn't bother with seeing them again though.

Well saw them last night amen having seen Queen, U2 and a million other bands live and in their hey day I can honestly say last nights gig was the best I've ever attended.

I thought they were horrific until I saw them live at the Emirates, one of the best live bands I've ever seen.
Changed my perspective on them completely.
